For nearly 40 years, our Anniston facility has supported some of the U.S. military’s most critical ground combat vehicle programs. Through successive ownership transitions from FMC to United Defense, BAE Systems, and now AMZ Alabama, the mission has remained the same: delivering exceptional manufacturing expertise and unwavering support to the warfighter.
1987–1994
Food Machinery Corporation (FMC)
Established as part of FMC’s defense manufacturing operations, supporting key U.S. military vehicle programs including the M113 Armored Personnel Carrier, Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV), and Assault Amphibious Vehicle (AAV).
1994–2005
United Defense, L.P. (UDLP)
Operations transitioned to United Defense following industry consolidation, expanding capabilities in combat vehicle manufacturing and sustainment programs.
2005–2024
BAE Systems
Joined BAE Systems as part of its global defense portfolio, continuing to support critical U.S. Army combat vehicle programs while enhancing manufacturing, engineering, and logistics capabilities.
2025–Present

AMZ Alabama continues the site’s proud legacy of supporting the U.S. military through advanced manufacturing, forging, machining, heat treatment, engineering, logistics, and combat vehicle component production. Building on nearly four decades of experience, AMZ Alabama remains committed to delivering mission-critical solutions to defense customers worldwide.
